December festivities are well behind us, and January is already calling to take action to make 2012 an even better year. And while I’m working on my New Year’s resolutions, I love to glimpse through our festive photo album, with the images of all the activities we did these past holidays at Capella Pedregal.
Bonfires, star gazing, Christmas cocktail parties, amazing holiday menus, the New Year’s Eve party with the Capella All Stars Band, and of course – the arrival of Santa.
Who needs a sleigh in paradise? Not Capella Pedregal’s Santa! He arrived to the resort on a Harley Davidson, bearing gifts for all the guests. I loved watching all the kids at the resort, who waited with great expectations and enthusiasm! There were “ooohs” and “awws” and squeals of delight as each opened their gifts. And after his work was done, Santa took off, promising to return next year.
Our 4 years old guest, Anna, showed me her gift: it was a wool turtle. I liked it so much, that I enquired about it with Isis Aguilar, our AlmArte Boutique Manager. She explained that these wool animal toys are handmade by Tzozil women from the state of Chiapas, Mexico. The wools are dyed and embroidered with distinct designs. The toys are produced by Marisa Porrua, a Mexican company conceived as a result of the desire of promoting Mexican indigenous culture through high quality textile products.
I am already looking forward to the next holiday season, but in the meantime I will focus on my New Year Resolutions, so that when Santa returns he will know that I’ve been good! Have you made your New Year’s resolutions yet?
